Thrifted Treasure Series Part 13 - Vintage Coffee Pots
If you're a coffee lover and a collector, vintage coffee pots can be a fun and rewarding item to collect. You can hunt for them at thrift stores, antique shops, flea markets, family cupboards, or online auctions.
You can focus on a particular brand, era, or style that resonates with your taste and interest; display them on shelves, cabinets, or racks that showcase their designs and history. Sharing your collection with your friends and family can spark conversations and memories. I have my parents percolator coffee pot that we used on camping trips!
What To Look For
When shopping for vintage metal coffee pots, look for styles that speak to you! Then…check for signs of damage such as rust or dents. If there are major imperfections…then you can pass…unless you simply love it…and then you can just call those imperfections…character!
Inspect the lid and handle for wear and tear—if either is loose or missing pieces, then it’s probably not worth investing in. Finally…consider how you will use it…is the size right for that function?
I like to use my coffee pots for vases…so…it’s important that they do not have holes in their bottoms!
Collections
Collections are nice in sets of three or five with each piece varying in height.
Handles
Part of the charm of these old coffee pots are the handles. Some are wood, bakelite, metal, and other materials depending on their age.

Mix and match flowers…Zinnias, pink double cosmos, and fresh basil. Yes! Basil! Herbs are good fillers for arrangements and add wonderful textures and aromas to your room.
If your garden herbs bolted from the summer heat…harvest them for flower arrangements!
