“If a year was tucked inside of a clock, then autumn would be the magic hour." ~Victoria Erickson
Decorating inspiration can come from anywhere…including a field of weeds. We called this plant “tobacco weed” when I was a kid.
The official name is Rumex Acetosella or field sorrel, sheep sorrel, sour weed or redweed and it is from the buckwheat family. This information maybe helpful at your next trivia party…you are welcome!
Rumex has a gorgeous rust color, it’s perfect for Fall decorating, and it’s free if you find it along a country road!
Helpful hint…always carry a set of clippers in your car for inspiration emergencies!
For these projects you will need pumpkins, shrub or tree branches, some outdoor containers, faux Fall florals, and a selection of WEEDS!
Weeds, branches, faux florals…arrange in that order!
Dress up your mantel or table with potted millet. (I found these on clearance for two dollars!) Add a few mossy tree branches, rumex, and baby pumpkins to finish the look.
Rusty elements are good for outdoor autumn decorating!
Update your planters with millet, ornamental kale, and pumpkins. Poke rumex stems into the dirt to add extra color and texture.
Replace spent plants with pumpkins…no digging or planting required!
Look at this fabulous window display! We discovered it outside a small farm/produce shop during our travels in Northern Ireland. Soooo cute!
Inspiration: A basket of pumpkins and a bicycle! The possibilities are endless!
