Thrifted Vs Styled: Autumn Decor Ideas

Updating your home for the holidays can be budget-friendly AND beautiful. Whether you love hunting for unique thrifted pieces or shopping your own home, these options bring warmth and personal charm to your spaces.

Thrifting offers one-of-a-kind finds and sustainable choices, while using what you already have sparks creativity and saves money. In this post you will find tips and inspiration for creating a cozy fall atmosphere that suits your style and budget.

Egg Cups

I found these egg cups in at a flea market in Spain. I love the pattern and of course you can never go wrong with blue and white!

I used the egg cups as pedestals and styled them with balls of twine and lantern pods from the garden. To add height to one of the cups…I turned a thrifted bowl upside down and stacked the egg cup on top.

I placed faux leaves in the twine balls and added a candle holder in the same colors.

Copper MCM Candleholders

These copper candle holders were in pretty rough shape but I purchased them for their “potential.” I gave them a good polish and then styled them for Fall.

I placed them on a gold tray next to a vase of flowers, a pumpkin, and dried leaves from the garden.

Then I filled the candleholders with wool and real acorns.

The tray was placed on an ottoman in our kitchen nook and I enjoy watching the afternoon sun make the copper and flowers sparkle.

Vintage Books

When I saw these cute little books I just had to rescue them! The colors are prefect for Fall and the patina on the covers are FAB!

I styled them on our buffet with brass bells, a ball of string, and a faux pumpkin.

Frameless Art

I thrifted the art piece on the mantel for $1.99. It’s signed by the artist and was the perfect colors and imagery for Autumn.

It is frameless and light weight so I simply leaned it against the bricks on the mantel, I styled it with brass pieces, a small wreath, and a faux pumpkin.

Wire Frame with Glass

I recently discovered that one of our local thrift stores has a “Buy one Get one” special on Tuesdays! So basically everything is half price…right?! This candle holder was purchased on one of those BOGO days! It needed a really good scrub but also had a lot of potential!

I styled it by filling the glass candle holders with candy corn. So simple…and so cute! Seasonal candy is a good way to add color and festive flair to any of your holiday decor. Check out this post for Christmas candy ideas!

I added lantern pods around the frame and placed it in front of three brass candle holders.

Whether you choose to thrift or shop your home, decorating for autumn is all about creating a space that feels warm and welcoming. Embrace the season in a way that reflects your unique style and brings joy to your home.

Happy decorating!
