“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks." - John Muir
Welcome to our summer garden tour! In this post, we'll take you on a relaxing 5-minute video stroll through the flower and vegetable garden. You'll also find a curated collection of beautiful flowers to consider adding to your garden next year!
The garden is growing and changing rapidly this month. Let's see what's living and blooming there!
Zinnia and Calendula
Rudbeckia aka Black Eye Susan
One plant…many different flowers!
Coneflowers
Once established, coneflowers return each year and have a long bloom season.
Liatris aka Blazing Star
These are a highlight of our yard this year. I planted 90 liatris bulbs about two years ago and they found their stride this year. I really like their foliage, architectural structure, and their purple blooms. The bees also LOVE them!

Roses, Dahlias, Calendula, and Honeywort
Snapdragons and Roses
Poppy

This frog lives in the top of our patio umbrella and greets us every morning when I raise the canopy. He is also enjoying the mossy flower arangement on our table this summer.

The new squash patch!
