Brewing tea with fresh garden herbs is a simple and easy way to enjoy nature's benefits. Echinacea, known for its immune-boosting properties, makes a soothing and health-enhancing tea. While I can't personally vouch for its effectiveness, I thought I would give it a try!
In this post, I’ll show you how to make tea with fresh echinacea flowers, so you can enjoy a delicious brew right at home.
Here's how to make tea using fresh echinacea flowers from your garden:
Ingredients
1-2 fresh echinacea flowers (petals and leaves)
2 cups of water
Honey or lemon (optional)
Harvest Echinacea Flowers
Select fully bloomed, healthy echinacea flowers from your garden.
Include some leaves along with the petals if you prefer a stronger flavor.
Clean Flowers
Rinse the flowers and leaves gently under cool running water to remove any dirt or insects.
Boil Water
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot or kettle.
Prepare Flowers
Place the rinsed echinacea flowers and leaves in a teapot or directly in your teacup.
Steep Tea
Pour the boiling water over the flowers and leaves.
Cover and let it steep for 5-7 minutes. Echinacea has a mild flavor, so a longer steeping time will enhance its strength.
Strain Tea
Strain the tea removing the flowers and leaves.
Optional: Sweeten your tea with honey, lemon, or any preferred sweetener.
Serve with your Favorite Snacks and Enjoy!
