Spring Decorating Inspiration

“Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen.” ~ John Steinbeck

That is how my morning went…I woke up early…before the alarm…went downstairs for coffee…was inspired to find our box of Spring decorations…one thing lead to another…and within an hour I had several ideas percolating.

Idea number one…

Here is what you need:

  • an egg holder

  • raffia or basket grass

  • speckled eggs

Make small nests with the basket grass and place them randomly in the egg holder.

Place speckled eggs in the nests.

Display the egg holder in your kitchen!

Idea number two…

Place wood eggs and candle holders on a large platter. Add candles and light…instant Spring!

Note: I dyed these wooden eggs and candle holders several years ago with vinegar dye…you can find the DIY link here.

Idea number three…

Plant tulip bulbs in an outdoor container and bring it indoors! Add a few eggs and a moss bunny and you have a beautiful centerpiece for your table or kitchen island!

Combine all three of these ideas and your decorating done!

But wait…there’s more!

Place a large tray in the center of your coffee table. Add fresh tulips, something green, candles, and eggs.

It’s still dark in the mornings so candle light is a must in our area!

Challenge yourself to use what you have…my challenge…blue and white china that have been in our living room since Christmas!

Fill bowls and tea cups with grass and eggs.

Stack extra saucers under your tea cup to create height and additional design elements.

Add something green…it is the perfect color for Spring. Look for moss bunnies in the dollar section at Target.

Arrange all of your elements on the tray to create a nice composition.

Happy decorating!

“Despite the forecast, live like it’s Spring.” ~ Lilly Pulitzer
