Murder Mystery

I’ve recently discovered Canadian author Louise Penny and love her murder mystery series starring Inspector Armand Gamache.

In addition to solving murders, Gamache is a big fan of licorice pipes. Are you familiar with these? I was not.

Curiosity got the best of me and I ordered some for our book club. The box was a mix of red and black pipes.

One of my Canadian friends said that she only remembers seeing black pipes…usually at the grocery checkout counter.

Black licorice is my favorite…and…possibly the reason you only see red pipes in these photographs! What can I say? A girl needs snacks!

Scandinavian Gatherings

I’m intrigued by this part of the world and love learning more about their culture and style.

This book contains a mix of recipes and craft projects that are…well…Scandinavian themed!

The craft projects are okay…but…the recipes look amazing!

Amazing Rare Things

I purchased this book when I was in textile design school and often reach for it when I am looking for garden inspiration.

The illustrations are beautiful and it has a lot of information about nature.

Atlas of the Heart

If you are a Brene’ Brown fan you will like her new book Atlas of the Heart. I’m listening to the audible version and also borrowed it from the library to see the images. It is easy listening and educational!

Conscious Creativity

Google Books description of this book had me at “look at the world with a CURIOUS eye!” I discovered Philippa Stanton serendipitously through another creative.

I like looking through her book and find it inspiring. It is full of interesting ideas and creative exercises. Can’t wait to put some of them into practice!

So many books…so little time!
