Gardening Books and TV shows You Might Enjoy

Are you looking for garden inspiration? I highly recommend these three books for Sunday afternoon reading!

  • Lessons from the Great Gardeners by Matthew Biggs

  • Lives of the Great Gardeners by Stephen Anderton

  • Gertrude Jekyll and the Country House Garden by Judith B. Tankard

All three of these books have beautiful imagery and lots of helpful tips for creating different garden styles and growing plants in a variety of climates.

If I had to pick a favorite…it would probably be Lessons from the Great Gardeners.

There is a short biography for each of the 40 gardeners highlighted in the book and a section I found very informative called “Lessons from the Greats.” In those sections you will find interesting ideas and tips….from garden philosophy to specific plants each gardener likes to grow.

You should be able to find all of these books at your local library!

TV show recommendations for June!

1) The Great Pottery Throw Down!

Amiture potters in England are challenged each week to create unique clay pieces that meet a specific brief. Find it on HBO Max.

2) Blown Away

Similar to The Pottery Throw Down but with glass blowing. Takes place in the United States with contestants from around the globe. Find it on Netflix.
